Mary Grace Miller, 88, of Hope

Mary Grace Miller, 88, of Hope, passed away Friday Dec. 4, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born June 9, 1932 in Newbern, she was the daughter of Carl S. and Ethel P. Essex Kissling. She married Lawrence James Miller on October 21, 1950 at the Hope United Methodist parsonage. Jim preceded Mary Grace in death on November 3, 2001.

Mary Grace graduated from Hope High School in 1950.

She worked in the banking industry most of her life.

She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church.

Mary Grace loved spending time with her family, singing with her sisters, crocheting, playing cards, watching the Indiana Pacers Basketball/NBA, traveling, and sewing.

Mary Grace always had a loving smile for others and she will be remembered for that smile.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda (Larry) Lucas of Columbus, Lu Anne James of Largo, FL and Lynne (Jim) Cook of Hope; grandchildren, Christa (Steve) Doty, Jeff Yarnell, Melissa (Kyle) Stopperan, and Crystal Eddy; step-grandchildren, Tammy Frederick and Jamie (Alan) Mayes; great-grandchildren, Shay, Dakota, Breeana, Kam, Kory and Carter; step-great-grandchildren, Jack, Ethan, and Cash; and sister, Esther (Dale) Dailey of Hope.

Mary Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; daughter, Karen Yarnell; great-granddaughter, Danielle Doty; and siblings, Ruth Ziegler, David Kissling, Glenn Kissling and Martha Broady.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private family graveside service with Pastor Ed Cottrell officiating at the Hope Moravian Cemetery. The family hopes to have a celebration of life at a later date.
