Former Hope resident dies in U.S. 31 crash

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of U.S. 31/100S in reference to a vehicle crash with injury on Feb. 13th at about 4:55 a.m.
Deputies found Gerald Henry, 72, Columbus, deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, Alexander Gaskins, 28, Crothersville, was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Other agencies assisting at the scene include Columbus Regional Hospital ambulance, Columbus Township Fire Department and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.
