Updated: One dead in Tuesday morning stabbing in Hope

A 70-year-old Hope man is accused of killing his son and injuring his wife during an incident Tuesday morning on Scott Street.
Charles A. Mee, 50, of Hope died in the incident which started at around 6:39 a.m. Tuesday. An autopsy revealed that he was killed by a stab wound to the neck and blunt force trauma to his head, according to Bartholomew County Coroner Clayton Nolting.
His father, James T. Mee, 77, of Hope was arrested on preliminary charges of murder and domestic battery.
Bartholomew County deputies say that they were called to an apparent domestic dispute with one person dead, Tuesday morning at the home.
Barbara Mee, 78, was also injured in the incident and taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The coroner's office said in a statement that toxicology results for Charles Mee are pending. Information from the autopsy will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
The incident is being investigated by the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team which includes the Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Columbus Police Department, Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office.
