Groundhog Day festivities return to Town Square

Main Street of Hope will again be holding Groundhog Day festivities on the Hope Town Square featuring Grubby the groundhog.

Groundhog Day events will start at 8 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 2nd near the bandstand on the Hope Town Square with music. The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with Grubby forecasting the remaining length of winter.

The program is part theater, part history lesson and part polka dancing, done in costume. Costumes for attendeesĀ are encouraged but not required.

Breakfast and hot drinks will be provided by the Hope Volunteer Fire Department following the event at the Hope United Methodist Church just east of the square. You will also be able to meet Grubby and take a selfie.

Grubby is a resident at Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators.
