Gary L. McLellan, 74, of Hartsville
Gary L. McLellan, 74, of Hartsville, passed away from this life Wednesday July 29, 2020 at his home. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted to his family.
Born Sept. 24, 1945 in Petoskey, MI, Gary was the son of Robert Lyle and Helen Marie Shall McLellan. Gary was married to Marlene Woodworth for 40 years and she preceded him in death Jan. 3, 2003. He then married Tammy Powers Aug. 30, 2009 and she survives.
Gary was employed as a maintenance manager at Enkei America for 20 years and Tammy would like to thank them for their respect and devotion to our family during this difficult time.
Gary was in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1971 serving during the Vietnam War. He was loyal to his country and proud to be an American.
Gary enjoyed his friends and cherished his animals.
He loved horseback riding, hunting and watching friends and family fish on his farm. Gary was never without his great companions, along with memorable horses and dogs. He had an eye for the best automobiles. Many nephews and nieces enjoyed his flare and taste for the best classic and classy automobiles.
In raising 2 families Gary loved and was proud of he leaves behind his wife Tammy of Hartsville; children, David (Gretchen) McLellan of Onaway, MI, Sonya (Matthew) Clemmens of Manchester, Indiana, Robert (Brittani) Garwood of Evansville, IN, Reagan Garwood (Jacob Bruce) of Bloomington and Dillon Garwood of Hartsville; grandchildren, Serra (Danny) Bass, Ellie McLellan, Sam (Kiersten) Adams and Lincoln Garwood; siblings, Shirley Lowe of Bellaire, MI, Lyle McLellan of Branson, MO, John McLellan of Petoskey, MI and Lois Landis of Greensburg, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Gary will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. A funeral service officiated by Roger and Devin Hunter will follow at 4 p.m. Cremation will take place following the service. Military rites for Gary will be performed by the Bartholomew County Veteran Honor Guard. Masks are required.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Premier Hospice in Bloomington.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen; his first wife, Marlene; siblings, Lila Horniman and Allen Horniman; nephews, Justin Lowe and Mike Horniman and a brother-in-law, Jack Lowe.
