Driver crashes into home near Hartsville

On June 21, 2020, at approximately 12:45 pm, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the area of County Roads 505N and 850E in reference to a truck that had crashed into a house.
On arrival, Sgt. Worman observed a truck into the east side of a residence. The home received significant damage and is uninhabitable at this time.
The driver, identified as Esther M. Waltz, 41, Columbus, was taken into custody on preliminary charges of:
- Possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of paraphernalia
All persons are considered innocent until/unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Assisting at the scene were BCSO Deputy Cooper, Indiana State Police, Hartsville Fire Department and Columbus Regional Hospital EMS.
