Janice Arlene Carnahan, 79, of Hope
Janice Arlene Carnahan, 79, of Hope, died Friday June 26, 2020 at St Vincent Hospital in Anderson.
Born Sept. 30, 1940 in Toledo, OH, Janice was the daughter of Gerald and Lillian Trout Griswack. She married Bruce Carnahan February 9, 1994 and he preceded her in death January 10, 2019.
She was a graduate of Woodward High School in Toledo, OH and she attended Purdue University.
Janice faithfully attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus.
She loved traveling, spending time with family and friends and feeding birds.
There will be a memorial service Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6045 E. State St., Columbus, IN 47201 officiated by Pastor Doug Bauman and there will be visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Before retirement Janice was employed as a secretary in human resources and in previous years she owned and operated T & J Sales and Services in Fairland, IN.
Janice is survived by daughter, Dawn Deiwert of Hope; son, Tom (Janice) Hartenberger, Jr. of Rushville; grandchildren, Rick (Jerrica) Deiwert of Hope, Kristal (Derek) Baker of Hope, Christopher (Renee) Taggart of Flat Rock, Jeannetta Robertson of South Bend and Amanda (Jeff) Marshall of Fortville; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great – great grandchildren.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister, Barbara Ripple, a great-great granddaughter and her niece, Lisa Jones.
