Wanda Kay Fortner, 66 of Hartsville

Wanda Kay Fortner, 66 of Hartsville, passed away Friday Nov. 6, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born April 2, 1954 in Columbus, IN, Wanda was the daughter of Louis and Janet Dailey Bense. She married Steve Fortner August 19, 1972 and he survives.

Other survivors include, her mother Janet Bense of Hope; sisters, Debbie Cox of Hope and Brenda (Dave) Shireman of Hartsville and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Wanda was employed at Hope Warehouse as a secretary.

She was a member of Waynesburg Christian Church and the 80’s Ladies Home Economics Club.

Wanda loved crafting, decorating, scrapbooking, baking, cooking, gardening, celebrating Christmas and spending time with her family and friends. Anyone that knew Wanda knew what a happy, upbeat, inspirational person she was and that she felt much joy in giving to and doing things for other people.

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, there will be a drive through viewing for Wanda Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Waynesburg Christian Church, 10230 W. 850 S., Westport, IN 47283. There will be a private funeral service at the church officiated by Jay Vandebur and burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Wanda was preceded in death by her father, Louis; sister, Beverly Elliott and brother-in-law, Mike Cox.
