Peggy L. Proffitt, 87, of Columbus
Peggy L. Proffitt, 87, of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Peggy spent most of her life as a housewife and had previously worked at Como Plastics and Arvin Industries. She was a member of St. Louis Crossing Baptist Church and had attended Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. Peggy enjoyed gardening, flowers, and being outdoors. She enjoyed being with her family.
Born on July 11, 1933 in Bartholomew County, Peggy was the daughter of Virgil and Shirley Williams Arnett. She married Lawrence Proffitt on December 20, 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1998.
Survivors include daughter, Pamela (James) Hill of Columbus; granddaughter, Jonnelle (Tyler) Lazzell of Franklin; great-grandchildren, Faith Sueann Dru Lazzell and Noah James Lawrence Lazzell, both of Franklin; and sisters, Evelyn (Bill) Bass of Canton, IL and Janice (Clayton) Hyden of Columbus.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Frank and Marvin Arnett; and grandson, Joey Tyler Williams.
Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home. A private service will be held with Pastor John Tingle officiating. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
