By By Rob Deweese-
In dominant fashion, the Hauser Jets dispatched of the visiting Morristown Yellow Jackets Wednesday night in straight sets: 25-13, 25-13, 25-4.
From the first serve in the opening set, it was clear that the Jets were all business, as they never trailed in this Mid-Hoosier Conference matchup. The victory keeps Hauser perfect in the conference and moves the Jets to 9-2 on the season.
Hauser opened the first set by scoring the first six points. They continued to pull away and went on another scoring run of 10-1 to put the set out of reach for Morristown as they cruised to an opening set victory.
Set two started out tighter, as the Yellow Jackets were able to match the Jets on the scoreboard. However, with Hauser leading 9-6, they again went on a scoring binge, using a 12-1 run. The run extended Hauser’s lead 21-7, leading to another impressive victory in the second set.
The Jets, however, saved their best for the last set. They thoroughly and methodically wore Morristown down. By the end of the third set, the Yellow Jackets had managed only four points. This third set victory gave Hauser the sweep in the match.
The Jets were solid in all phases of the match. They served well, controlled the net, passed and hit consistently, and defended their half of the court. Hannah Johnson, Stephanie Meek, Marnie Schwartzkopf, and Kenzie Bostic own the net, with Aunaka Wasil assisting.
Before the game, Wasil was presented with a game ball, as she collected her 2,000th career assist in the previous match at Seymour.
The junior varsity was also victorious, as they won their match in straight sets: 25-17, 25-14.
