Bruce C. Gordon, 80, of Columbus
Bruce C. Gordon, 80, of Columbus passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis.
Bruce had previously lived in Rochester, NY for over 40 years.
Born on December 28, 1940 in Geneva, NY, Bruce was the son of Rudolph Charles and Sorina Mickelsen Gordon. He married Candice Everroad on September 27, 1969.
Bruce retired from Eastman Kodak. He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966.
In his earlier years, Bruce was a member of Hope United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher. He had also been a Scout leader for many years. Bruce spent 25 years being involved in the Chili soccer organization in New York.
He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and photography.
Survivors include his wife, Candice of Columbus; children, Joey (Laura) Gordon of Columbus and Tyra Gordon, and her son, Levi DeZarn of Lafayette; grandchildren, Shelby, Joey, and Savana Gordon; four step-grandchildren, Alicia Ophardt, Morgan Perry, Sam Johnson, and Ben Johnson; sisters, Emily DeRuyter of NY, Carol Conklin of NY, Dolores Williams of NY, Pauline Matthews of NY, and Brenda Swasey of Arizona; mother-in-law, Clinta Mae Everroad of Hope; and several nieces and nephews.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on August 21, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed Cottrell officiating.
