Rejina Janes Pumphrey Moore, 86, of Columbus

Rejina Janes Pumphrey Moore, 86, of Columbus, passed away the morning of Aug. 6th, 2021 at Keepsake Village.

Rejina was born on March 25, 1935 in Metcalfe County in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Robert and Lorena Jessee Janes. She married Donald Pumphrey on March 26, 1955 and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2001. She then married George Moore on May 15, 2005, and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2016.

Rejina was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and Royal Neighbors. She played on several bowling leagues and helped with the youth bowling league at Bulldog Lanes. Before retirement, she had worked as a retail sales associate.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and loved her flowers in her garden. She also enjoyed hosting her small group from church at her house.

Survivors include children, Stephen (Genora) Pumphrey of Hope, Janie (Ted) Shanks of Manteo, NC, Randy (Sherri Hyden) Pumphrey of Columbus, and Lori (Jeff) Crouse of Ogilville; step-daughter, Cindy (Chris) Baldwin of Columbus; grandchildren, Cara Taylor of Columbus, Megan (Andy) Biddle of Pottstown, PA, Chad (Desi Martin) Pumphrey of Columbus, Matt (Carmen) Pumphrey of Seymour, Jeremy Phelps of Columbus, Jennifer Whitchurch of Manteo, NC, Ian (Crystal) Pumphrey of Columbus, Breana (Zerek) England of Columbus; Morgan Crouse of Indianapolis; Angie (Kyle) Wilson, Kim (Josh) Joslin, Kelsey (Nick) George, and Allison (Jimmy Guinn) Picket; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Euna Riddle of Hope; and several nieces and nephews.

Rejina is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; her husband, George; her brother, Jesse Janes; and her great-granddaughter, Chloe Pumphrey.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 9th at Norman Funeral Home with her son Rev. Stephen Pumphrey officiating. Visitation was held  at the funeral home and burial was at Hawcreek Cemetery.
