Larry W. Misner, 81, of Hope

Larry W. Misner, 81, of Hope, passed away Wednesday Feb. 3, 2021 at his home.

Born Feb. 10, 1939 in Columbus, Larry was the son of Wallace and Ocie Riddle Misner, who preceded him in death.

He married Betty Sewell on April 13, 1958.

Larry was a member of Hope United Methodist Church and Hope Masonic Lodge 150. He spent most of his career doing many things, such as banking, insurance, owned and operated a restaurant, and owned commercial and residential properties, but his greatest love other than family, was softball. He had previously been the president of USSSA.

He enjoyed a good joke and playing pranks, especially on his three kids, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Gary (Lynne) Misner of Wheeling, IL, Shelli (David) Burton of Columbus, and Kelli (Michael) Ross of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Cassie (Justin) Myers of Cincinnati, OH, Katie (Ben) Newton of Isle of Palms, SC, Mika Ross of Mount Pleasant, SC, Krista (Evan) West of Charleston, SC, Noah (Amanda) Ross of Mount Pleasant, SC, Matthew Misner of Seattle, WA, and Megan Misner of Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Jonah Newton, Owen Myers, Elsie Newton, Lucas Myers, Ethan Myers, Hadley Puig, Leah Emerson Ross, Jana Ross, and Hazel West.

Visitation will be at Norman Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Masonic service following. A private family service will be held with Pastor Ed Cottrell officiating. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Please follow social distancing guidelines and masks are required.
