Jeanette L. Finke, 91, of Hope
Jeanette L. Finke, 91, of Hope, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Jeanette had worked as a law office librarian at Thompson, Jones, and Patterson, and had been a teacher at Grace Lutheran Church.
She was an original founding member of Grace Lutheran Church and helped often with Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs). She enjoyed gardening and being involved in the church. She loved children, especially her grandchildren.
Born on October 19, 1929 in Columbus, Jeanette was the daughter of Willard and Lillian Wint Schwartzkopf. She married Benjamin Marshall Finke on May 23, 1948, and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1960.
Survivors include children, Suzanne R. (Steve) Connell of Columbus, Ted M. (Linda) Finke of Hope, Janice J. (Tim) Scheidt of Hope, and Tom R. (Cheryl) Finke of Hope; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn White of Columbus; brothers-in-law, Earl Stam of Columbus, Irvin Finke of Columbus, Richard (Jackie) Finke of Hope, and Joe (Dottie) Finke of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Joann Schwartzkopf of Westport, and Dorothy (Vern) Cox of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Marcia Jane Schwenk; granddaughter Annie Michelle Finke; sisters, Mary Margaret Finke and Ruthann Stam; and brothers, Clarence H. Schwartzkopf and David Schwartzkopf.
Following Jeanette’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private graveside will be held at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.
