Actors Studio seeking talented locals
Know someone who juggles? Maybe you have a unique gift for playing musical spoons or channeling your inner Lady Macbeth. Or maybe you have a touch of comedic genius that needs an outlet. Whatever your talent or gift, the Actors’ Studio of Hope would like to meet you.
Hope and surrounding area residents are invited to come out and show off their unique talents and skills when the Actors’ Studio of Hope holds its first open auditions at 6:30 p.m. November 1 at WILLow LeaVes of Hope, located at 326 Jackson Street.
With the Actors’ Studio’s Holiday Variety Show just around the corner, the show’s producer Naomi Fleetwood-Pyle says she is seeking new talent.
“I am very much into community theatre because I firmly believe the arts need to be around,” Pyle says. “People need to be able to do artistic things. For me, it is a wonderful release to get on that stage as an artist and become a different person.”
It should be noted that the talent sought isn’t just for the variety show, but also for a series of plays and engagements coming to WILLow LeaVes in the future, Pyle adds. Auditions are open to individuals ages 10 years old and up.
“I just like diverse talent,” Pyle says. “If someone has a special talent, I would love that. Something different I haven’t done before. I am open for about anything.”
Previous shows and productions have spotlighted area talent that includes ventriloquists, singers, dancers, comedians and, of course, actors and actresses.
Pyle says she would love to showcase fresh talents alongside her veteran acts and is eager to see what is out there.
“I would love, love, love to get some new blood in,” Pyle says. “I’ve a list of actors and talent I call on, but it is nice to get new talent in.”
