Leamon (Chief) Burton, 84, Hope
Born November 8,1937 in Columbia, KY he was the son of Ealie and Bonnie Burton. He married Betty Hancock March 15, 1961 and she preceded him in death May 11, 2018.
Before retirement Leamon was employed at Reeves Reliance as a machinist.
He enjoyed working in his garage on cars and other things such as lawn mowers. He loved spending time with his family.
Leamon is survived by sons, Randall (Cynthia) Burton of Columbus and Russell (Diane) Burton of Hope; grandsons, Eric (Courtney) Burton of Columbus and Craig Burton of Hope; great grandchildren, Elayna and Calissa Burton of Columbus and Morgan and Lauren Burton of Hope; siblings, Jerry (Eloise) Burton of NC, Nella Lamb of Whiteland, Jodi Burton of Columbia, KY, Robert (Pat) Burton of Columbia, KY, Brenda (David) Deal of NC and Edgar (Christine) Burton of Columbia, KY; several brother and sister in laws and nieces and nephews.
Leamon’s funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Gerald Hancock officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Leamon was preceded in death by his parents, Ealie and Bonnie; his wife, Betty and siblings, Elmo, Rosemary, Shirley, Leon and Hulis Burton.
