Helen Irene Hogan Bolander, 91 of Hope

Helen Irene Hogan Bolander, 91 of Hope passed away Sunday February 6, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born May 22, 1930 in St. Louis Crossing Helen was the daughter of Simon N. and Mamie F. Lambert Hogan. She married Chester “Chet” Bolander May 1, 1965 and he preceded her in death March 20, 2013.

Helen is survived by children, Angie (Kevin) Mahoney of Hope, Mark Bolander of Hope and Mandy (Jon) Betzner of Bunkerhill, IN; grandchildren, Emerald Bolander of Hope, Steven (Lu) Mahoney of Cincinnati, Sarah (Tyler) Wissman of Toledo, OH and Nick (K.D. Thurman) Betzner of Broad Ripple and two great grandchildren, Amelia and Maddie Wissman.

Helen was a member of Hope Moravian Church, Hope Chapter of Eastern Star, and Democratic Party.

She enjoyed working at the voter registration and the poles. She loved playing the piano, loved old musicals, Lawrence Welk, going to fairs and auctions and raising farm animals. She also loved her Main Coon cat “Smokie”.

A private graveside will take place at Hartsville College Cemetery.
