Operation Mail Call
If you have ever wanted to thank a vet for your freedom this is your chance. On the evening of April 19th Indy Honor Flight will be returning to Indianapolis with some real Hoosier Heroes. After just visiting veterans' memorials in our Nation's Capital, help give them a proper welcome home. Mail Call is a very personal, very touching way to let our veterans know that, even after all these years, their sacrifices have not been forgotten. Each veteran will receive a packet of cards and letter, and we need your help to make it a reality. Examples range from a simple card, a handwritten letter, or a coloring page from a young child. Involve your kids, your church, your family, your class and be as creative as you'd like. We need lots of mail, so please help! Deadline for inclusion is April 1st, so send your letters and cards ASAP. If you are writing to a fried or family member, please put their name on the envelope in the address as shown. Add the Flight number too. If you do not know a veteran, simply use 'Dear Veteran' as your salutation. We distribute the Dear Veteran Letters evenly. Please do not date your letter. Examples of signatures include: Bobby, Mrs. Jones' Class, Clark's Creek Elementary--or simply..."A Grateful America."
Please help us make this a success while keeping it a surprise for our veterans.
