Wavie Leotis Stoner, Jr., 84 of Columbus
Wavie Leotis Stoner, Jr., 84 of Columbus passed away Tuesday February 22, 2022 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital.
Born November 2, 1937 in Burnsville, IN Wavie was the son of Wavie L. and Eva M. Weddle Stoner, Sr. He married Sally Israel June 1, 1962 and she survives.
Wavie retired after over 30 years from Cummins Engine Company. He also did some farming in his working years.
He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guards.
He was a member of the Taylorsville United Methodist Church and a previous member of the Clifford United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Clifford Volunteer Fire Department, the Diesel Union at Cummins, the NRA and a previous member of Eagles Lodge.
Wavie loved nature and to be outdoors fishing, gardening, hunting and trapping. His favorite thing to do was attend his grandchidren’s sporting events.
Wavie is survived by his wife Sally of Columbus; children, Jeff (Karri) Stoner of Indianapolis, Jon (Deena) Stoner of Columbus and Jay (Angie) Stoner of Seymour; grandchildren, Lauren (Branson) Ping of Seymour, Quenton (Whitney) Stoner of Seymour, Nick Stoner of Columbus and Katie Stoner of Columbus; great grandchildren, Abram, Avri, Weston and Norah; a sister, Donna Jean Nolan of Salem; 2 nieces, 2 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Wavie was Monday. Feb. 28th at Norman Funeral Home in Hope, officiated by Gary Eberhart. Burial with military graveside rites performed by Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard was at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Wavie was preceded in death by his parents; a sisters, Maxine (Dwight) Percifield, June and Judy Stoner and a brother in law, Everett Nolan.
