"Age Wave Conference" To Help Retirees Navigate Uncharted Waters
The Bartholomew County Financial Literacy Coalition in collaboration with Mill Race Center, Thrive Alliance and Just Friends are presenting the “Age Wave Conference” June 17 at Mill Race Center, located at 900 Lindsey St., Columbus.
WWA Planning & Investments is sponsoring keynote speaker Dr. Phil Stafford, who will offer his revolutionary perspective about aging and looking to the future. The meal is being sponsored by Vivera Senior Living, Voels, Reed, & Mount Law, and Findley Law.
Stafford offers a different perspective on aging and the aging process. Rather than approaching maturity as a physical phenomenon, Stafford believes aging is more a cultural phenomenon, which completely upends traditional understanding. Instead of being about time, aging is more aligned with experience and relationships, as well as their meaning and role in our lives.
During this event, Stafford will offer his model of aging and what that looks like for not only older adults in the community, but also the potential effects on the healthcare system and planning for the future.
As part of the presentation, a Panel on Retirement will hold a discussion led by individuals who bring with them varied experiences that contributed to their own retirement, as well as ways one can deal with retirement.
Registration is required for this event. Participants can register through Eventbrite https://bit.ly/3xXLPTR no later than Friday June 10.
Those who are unable to register online may also do so through Mill Race Center.
