Yellow Trail Museum's annual Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration will be held Friday, July 1st.  It will be held jointly with Main Street of Hope's First Friday Cruise-in.  The Banister Family Band will be performing.  Food choices include a fish fry by the Hope Volunteer Fire Department, hot dogs and fired potatoes by the Boy Scouts, chicken on a stick from the Community Center, funnel cakes by Kappa Kappa Sigma, chicken and noodles, chicken salad and grilled tenderloins at WILLow LeaVes of Hope, baked good and ice cream from the Wesleyan Church.  The good church ladies will also be selling the apple pies entered in the pie contest. Corner Café and El Jefe will be serving their regular menu.  There will be lots of good, free family fun including the annual parade of decorated bikes, a cakewalk, the annual little Mr. and Miss Firecracker contest, crafts, and old fashioned games.  The event will conclude at dusk with a fireworks show. Registration forms for the bike parade, apple pie contest, and Little Mr./Miss Firecracker are available at WILLow LeaVes of Hope, the Yellow Trail Museum, and the Hope Branch of the Bartholomew County Library.

  • 5:00 CRUISE IN CAR SHOW STARTS
  • 5:30 GAMES & CRAFTS & OPEN
  • 5:30 – 6:30 APPLE PIE CONTEST REGISTRAION AT WESLYAN BOOTH
  • 6:10 PRESENT GRAND MARSHALL AWARD BY HOH*
  • 6:15 CROWNING OF MISS AND MISTER FIRECRACKER
  • 6:30 PARADE OF DECORATED BIKES BEGINS
  • 6:45 APPLE PIE JUDGING CONTEST          
  • 6:45 CAKE WALK IN THE SHELTERHOUSE
  • 6:30 – 9:00 BANNISTER FAMILY BAND PLAYS BANDSTAND
  • 7:00 SACK RACES     
  • 7:15 WATERMELON SEED SPITTING CONTEST
  • 7:45 TUG OF WAR    
  • 8:00 WATER BALLON TOSS
  • 7:45 – 8:15 CRUISE IN AWARDS.  BAND WILL BREAK.
  • 8:30 CRAFTS CLOSE
  • BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR FOR FIREWORKS
  • YELLOW TRAIL OPEN FOR $1.00 ICE CREAM FLOATS
