Dan William Perry, 64, of Hope

Dan William Perry, 64, of Hope, passed away suddenly at 9:32 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Department.

Dan was born November 16, 1957, in Columbus, the son of Marshall W. and Dymphna A. “Dee” Raes Perry.

He married Deana R. Jackson May 10, 1980.

After Dan graduated from Hauser High School in 1976, he went on to Blue River Vocational.

After graduating he started his first job at Dunfee’s, then a few years later became the owner and operator of Perry’s Body Shop.
He was well known for his body work restoration and enjoyed hunting, horseman’s camp, bailing hay, Bristol races, mud bogs, going on cruise ships with Deana and Shipshewana.

He was a true family man, and his grandkids were the light of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years; children, Ryan Perry of Hope, Paige (Erin) Brown of Columbus and Sarah (Glendon) Cox of Greensburg; five cherished grandkids, Ella, Marshall, Avery, Ava and Grayson; siblings, David (Cathy) Perry of Florida, Darrell (Jackie) Perry of Elizabethtown and Doneta (Steve) Kelso of Columbus; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and his beloved dog, Finesse.

He was preceded in death by his, parents; uncle Charles and aunt Charlene.

The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Steve Fortner officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Mike Cox Scholarship Fund, through the National Swine Registry.
