Marcia Dickherber, 81, Columbus

Marcia Dickherber left this world at 4:08 a.m. on Thursday, May 5th.

The daughter of George and Virginia Cart, Marcia was born in Logansport, Indiana, on March 6, 1941. She graduated from Logansport High School in 1959 and went on to earn both Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

A long-time resident of Columbus, she taught at Cross Cliff Elementary School for many years until her retirement. Marcia had a particular gift for friendship and leaves many friends who mourn her. Her family was of particular importance to her, as well.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Dickherber; her daughter Amanda (Troy) Fleming; her son Alex Dickherber; her brother Michael Cart and three grandsons: Andrew David Dickherber, Wyatt Fleming, and Rhett (Janelle) Fleming.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, 6000 State Road 46, Columbus, Indiana, with Pastor Todd Riordan officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, of which Marcia was a long-time member.
