Alma R. McQueen, 88, Hope
Born on January 29, 1934 in French Lick, she was the daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth Byerley Line. She married Owen McQueen on December 31, 1951, and he preceded her in death August 15, 2005.
Alma enjoyed playing bingo and cards, watching gameshows, and other television shows. She loved decorating for Christmas.
Alma is survived by children, Susan (Eddie) Phelps of Hope and Pat (Lori) McQueen of Hope; grandchildren, Nicole (Corey Buck) McQueen of Hope, Taisha (John) King of Hope, Kristopher (Tara Atkins) McQueen of Hope, Victoria McQueen of Columbus, and Cameron McQueen of Hope; great-grandchildren, Collin Buck, Braydon McFarland, Gavin King, Harlow Atkins, and Haelynn McQueen; a brother, Buryl (Betty) Line of Columbus; a brother in law, Jay (Rhonda) McQueen of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Owen; son, Mikel McQueen; great-granddaughter, Hadley McQueen; brothers, Herbert Line, Jr., Glenn Line; and half siblings, Earl, Blanche, Olive, John, Martha, Irvin and Dorothy.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 14 at 1 p.m. at Hope Moravian Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ed Cottrell.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Hope United Methodist Church Meal Site Fund through the funeral home.
