Carol Ziegler, 92, Hope
Born on January 8, 1930 in Hope, Carol was the daughter of Ferris and Eva Stam Conner. She married Ernest Ziegler on June 4, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1990.
Before retirement, Carol worked at Irwin Union and First Financial Bank. She was a member of Hope Moravian Church. She was a former member of American Legion Auxillary in Hope, Kill Kare Klub, and Yellow Trail Museum. Carol had been an organist at Lewis Creek Baptist Church and a pianist at Burnsville Christian Church. In her earlier years, she played the organ at Heritage House Restaurant in Hope in the evenings and on weekends. Carol still enjoyed playing her piano at home.
Survivors include children, John (Susan) Ziegler of Hope and Lee Ann (Robert) Stewart of Indianapolis; grandchildren, William “Ted” Stewart of Indianapolis, Alyssabeth Stewart of Indianapolis, Tyocia Ziegler of Norristown, and Sandra (Justin) Fleenor of North Vernon; great-grandchildren, Savanna and Jacob Fleenor of North Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; son, Jimmy Ziegler; and siblings, Robert Conner and Mary Foust.
A service will be held for Carol on Friday, October 28 at 2 p.m. at Hope Moravian Church with Pastor Andy Kilps officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hope Moravian Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or Yellow Trail Museum.
