Clora Marie Renner Mize, 89, of Hope, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope.

Born on October 3, 1933 in Kansas, Indiana, Clora was the daughter of Hubert and Mary Miller Renner. She married Howard Mize on July 13, 1956, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2018.

Clora was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a long-time active member of First Baptist Church of Hope where her and Howard were married as they began their 62 years of marriage. Clora retired from working in the office at Cummins Engine Company. Her and her husband, Howard, loved spending time with family and friends. She was very personable and never met a stranger and enjoyed many friendships. She and Howard loved to travel the U.S. and have adventures large and small, and especially enjoyed the winters they spent in Florida. She enjoyed watching sports in person and on TV, and especially enjoyed going to sporting events of her children and grandchildren. She loved playing cards and other games, and was a little bit competitive about it! She had a long-time group of friends that she traveled, dined, laughed, cried, and had adventures with as they shared life happenings for over 50 years. They are affectionately called “The Gang” and were an integral part of her life. She was involved in a home economics club called the Future Grandmothers for many years and still participated recently in meetings. Her life was blessed in so many ways and the family is assured of her place in heaven with her eternal Father where she is at peace and now with her husband.

Survivors include children, Karen Mize of Hope, Dennis (Cheryl) Mize of Hope, and Alan (Rayetta) Mize of Columbus; grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Mize of Columbus, Bret (Danielle) Mize of Hope, Austin Mize of Columbus, and Bryce (Bethany) Mize of Hope; great-grandchildren, Emery Mize, Hailey Shaw, Zoey, Ethan, and Camden Mize, and Gibson and Rowan Mize; siblings, June Gilliland of Hope, and Ralph Renner of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
