Tina Marie McNicholas, 66, Hope

By Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home-

Tina Marie McNicholas, 66, of Hope, passed away October 27, 2022 at her residence.

Tina was born November 28, 1955, the daughter of the late Carl and Geneva Rose Mullikin Sr. She married Harold on May 9, 1975.

Wife. Mother. Grandmother. All titles she wore and wore with pride. Never a career, never a path. Just her people. She never had much. But anyone with less was looked after. Never knew a stranger. A place for all who wandered to not be lost. And she's gone. For everyone she touched, looked after and played mom to, she's gone. But she's left us all with a sense of welcome, a feeling that no matter how tough it is, we can always give. A simple person. A homemaker, a caretaker. A feeder of those who were lost, a holder of those who had no one else. She never had much, but never denied those who needed what she could give. And gave it freely. She raised 5 boys, and all the stragglers they brought home, plus a cousin that she loved to no end. She took in kids that had nowhere to go, even though it was more than she could handle. She cooked; badly sometimes, but she did it anyway. And no one went hungry. But mostly she loved. Too much probably, so much that it became more than she could bear. But that was the torch she carried, the world has lost a kind soul. We, on the other hand, have lost our mom. But some who were lost were found.

Tina is survived by her husband Harold of the home; her sons, Gavin (Cristina) McNicholas, Jayson “Jay” (Rachel) McNicholas, Josh (Cheryl) McNicholas, Joey (Talara) McNicholas, and Carl McNicholas; step-daughter Carrie Jackson, 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Jean) Mullikin, Carl (Susan) Mullikin Jr.; her sisters; Phyllis (Carlos) Mounce, Mary Conrad, and Kay (Kenny) Barwick.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Robert and Paul Brent Mullikin; sisters, Bennie Gill and Teresa Davis.
