Organizers say they are excited for the return of the First Friday's Cruise-in this week and hopeful it will be another record-breaking event on the Hope Town Square beginning at 5 p.m. Friday.
Sponsored by Indiana Main Street and the Columbus Indiana Visitors Center, last month's cruise-in welcomed more than 110 cars and raised more than $1,100 for the Hope Volunteer Fire Department.
Proceeds from this month's event will benefit the Yellow Trail Museum, says Jason Eckart, Hope Town Manager.
Visitors are encouraged to visit the museum, located on the west side of the Square at 644 Main Street, as the Indiana Historical Society's traveling exhibit Auto Indiana opens for a more than month-long stay through September 12. The exhibit chronicles Indiana's automotive past, including spotlighting Indiana's inventors and innovators who contributed to the evolution of the automobile.
The soundtrack for Friday's cruise-in event will be offered by local band favorite Beyond Hope.
