The JV and Varsity Basketball Teams traveled to Batesville on Saturday for a midday contest. The JV was defeated in a very close and competitive game.

The Lady Jet Varsity Team was defeated by the Bulldogs 52-48 in a very good contest. The Jets trailed 16-9 after the first quarter and after an even second quarter the Jets trailed 31-24 at the break. A back and forth third quarter set-up and dramatic fourth quarter. The Bulldogs led 42-33 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Jets erased that lead very quickly with a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter. After two free throws by senior Adrianna Musillami the Jets had claimed its second lead of the game with the only other one being 3-2 early in the first. The Bulldogs answered with a three on the other end and the Jets moved within one many times but couldn’t reclaim a lead. The Jets moved to 9-7 on the year.

The Jets bounced back after a bad shooting performance at Oldenburg on Tuesday to put up a very respectable 38% shooting percentage from the field on Saturday vs. a very long and active Bulldog defense. Senior Adrianna Musillami was four for eight from the field and four for four from the free throw line to lead the Jets. Junior Bella Kilps was three of six from the field to help the cause. Musillami ended with 12 points and Kilps added eight points and both were awarded the MaxPreps Player of the Game award. Kilps led the team with six rebounds, while Parrott and Musillami pulled down five apiece. Parrott led the charge with five assists and scored seven points. The Jets defense surrendered a 35% shooting percentage and Junior Guard Madelyn Poe led the team with three deflections and scored a game high 20 points.
