Annual Apple Pie Baking Contest Registration Now Open

Calling all bakers! Do you bake the best apple pie? If so, enter your best full-size apple pie in the annual Pie Baking Contest presented as part of the festivities of the Old-Fashioned Independence Day Celebration Friday, June 30.

Judges will decide who receives the $25 grand prize (and bragging rights!) with second and third places receiving $15 and $10, respectively.

Entrants must offer a full-sized APPLE pie that will be cut and sold with ice cream following the contest.

All pies must be present on site at the Wesleyan Church Ladies booth from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 30. Judging will begin promptly at 6:45 p.m.

Two baker categories will be offered: Adult and kids 12 years old and under.

Monetary prizes will be presented shortly after judging is complete. Winners will be announced that evening and on HSJOnline.com the following week.   

Contest entry forms may be picked up at the following
downtown locations:

WILLow LeaVes of Hope, located at 326 Jackson St., The Yellow Trail Museum, located at 640 Main St., and the Hope Branch Library, located at 635 Harrison St.

** Entry forms must be completed ahead of time or prior to contest start on June 30.
