John A. McDaniel, 63, Waldron

John A. McDaniel, 63, of Waldron, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at MHP Medical Center.

Born September 27, 1959, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Bob J. McDaniel and Ann (Bass) McDaniel. He married Jackie (Hurst) McDaniel on August 11, 1979 and she survives.

Other survivors include mother Ann McDaniel of Shelbyville; 1 daughter Ashley Hoeing (Chris) of Rushville; 4 siblings-Jeff McDaniel (Cindy) of Arlington, Kathy Meyer (Alan) of Greensburg, David McDaniel (Teresa) of Boerne, Texas, Frank McDaniel (Erin) of Manilla; and grandson Samuel Hoeing. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Rick McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and graduated from Rushville HIgh School in 1977.  He was a member of Waldron Metehodist Church, and a member of American Rabbit Breeder's Assn., and National Mini Rex Rabbit Club.

John had been a truck driver for J & V Trucking for 20 years.  He had previously been employed with Gray Seeds in Fairland as plant manager for 10 years and had also owned and operated McDaniel Floor Care/Hoosier Carpet Care for 20 years. 

John enjoyed woodworking, gardening, raising and breeding rabbits, and loved spending time with his grandson and family.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Hurst Cemetery in Homer, with Pastor David Galbraith officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of the service, at the cemetery.
