Esther E. Dailey, 87, Hope

Esther E. Dailey of Hope, passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2023, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born on July 22, 1935, in Columbus, Indiana Esther was the daughter of Carl and Ethel P. Essex Kissling.  She married the love of her life, Dale D. Dailey on February 24, 1956, and he survives.

Esther was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church. She had been a cub scout leader.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family.  She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, playing cards, ceramics, gardening, canning, and had been able to travel to 49 states.

Esther is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dale Dailey; children, Rodney (Joanna) Dailey of Hope, Marsha (Andy) Tobias of Flat Rock, Bryan (Arlene) Dailey of Columbus, and Morris Dailey of Hope; grandchildren, Rob (Shannon) Dailey, Scott (Leslie) Dailey, Tyler (Ciara) Dailey, Matthew (Michelle) Tobias, Jacob (Kayla) Tobias, Beth Tobias, Bridget (Cory) Diedrich and Daniel Dailey; 17 great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Esther will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.  Burial will follow at Hope Moravian Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Hope United Methodist Church or Hope Food Bank. 

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Ziegler, Mary Grace Miller and Martha Broady; brothers, Glen Kissling and David Kissling and a great granddaughter, Isabella Dailey.
