Organizers are hoping for beautiful weather and a great crowd as the second cruise-in of the 2023 season kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday on the Hope Town Square.

Unique cars, trucks and bikes of all makes, models and flavors will begin gathering on the Square around 4:30 p.m. with local band favorite Vinyl Escape taking the stage with a rockin’ set list beginning at 6 p.m.

The first cruise-in of the 2023 season was a great success with around 80 cars participating on an evening that offered beautiful weather and an amazing crowd, says Jason Eckart, Hope Town Manager.

“We couldn’t have asked for better,” he says. “It was a really good scene.”

Proceeds from the May cruise-in raised $862 for the Community Center of Hope and this month the Student’s Fund of Hope will be the recipient of monies raised.

Whitney Budd, founder of the Student’s Fund of Hope, says the Student’s Fund is excited to be a part of the event. As part of the organization’s involvement Friday, volunteers will be on hand selling soft drinks for a free-will donation.

Budd says the event’s organizers have done similar fundraising events before and gifted the SFOH with raised proceeds.

When it comes to supporting area nonprofits, the importance of fund-raising events can’t be overstated. Every dollar, every donation counts, Budd says.

“Hopefully, we will be able to see some families we’ve helped,” Budd says. “And make some new connections.”
