Nathan Todd Colwell, 40, of North Vernon, passed away on October 30, 2023, at his residence. Nathan was born February 11, 1983, in Columbus to Denny and Ronda Vincent Colwell. He graduated from Columbus North High School, where he excelled and enjoyed playing Basketball. He was united in marriage to Patricia Starks Howell Colwell on August 18, 2017, and preceded him in death on July 19, 2022.

Nathan was employed by Lowe’s where he had worked for over 21 years and was currently employed at their distribution center in North Vernon. He had a deep love for his family, loved playing his guitar, and enjoyed watching IU Basketball and the Dallas Cowboys. His sense of humor could light up any room and was very much a jokester.

Nathan is survived by his parents, Denny and Ronda Colwell of Columbus; his brothers, Travis Colwell of Hope, and Darin (Jessica) Colwell of Farmer’s Branch, Texas; his Nieces, Karla (Jacob) Bower of North Vernon, Josie Colwell of Farmers Branch, Texas, Katelyn Colwell of North Vernon, his nephews, Trevor Colwell of Morgantown and Caden Colwell of North Vernon. Nathan is also survived by his sister-in-law Britt Moss, his beloved “Bella” and a host of other family and friends.

Nathan was preceded in death by his wife and also his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association through the funeral home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home between 2 and 5 p.m. and again on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Ballard officiating. Nathan will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery.
