Flags honoring local veterans have returned to the Hope Town Square just ahead of Veterans Day.

The banners were implemented in July 2021 as part of the Hometown Heros Project, led locally by former town manager, Frank Owens, who served in the position from May 24 to December 17, 2021.

Local residents submitted a picture of their veteran and purchased a one-sided banner for $97 or a two-sided banner for $107.

Locally, Veterans will be celebrated at an 8 a.m. program at the Hauser Jr. – Sr. High School gym.

A breakfast at WILLow LeaVes of Hope, hosted by the Yellow Trail Museum, the Hope Visitors Center, Fye Rentals, LLC., and WILLow LeaVes of Hope, will take place immediately following the program around 9:15 a.m. The menu will feature breakfast items, coffee and other beverages free of charge to local veterans.

Local veterans are encouraged to attend for food and fellowship.
