By Kyle Shipp, Hauser Jr.-Sr. HS Head Girls' Basketball Coach

The Lady Jets split road Mid-Hoosier games on Friday and Monday with Waldron and Southwestern.

At Waldron on Friday the Jets were down one after the first quarter 16-15.  The Jets had a bad stretch in the middle of the second quarter to cause the game to move to a 15-point deficit at halftime.  The second half was pretty much even, and the final ended 57-41.

The Jets were led early by junior guard Norah Berkenstock who scored 9-points in the first quarter and ended with 11-points for the game.  She also led the team in assist. Senior guard Erykah Everroad was awarded the MaxPreps Player of the Game leading the team in field goal percentage and steals.  She scored 11-points on the night. Senior forward Mattie Foster shared the steals lead with Everroad and senior Bella Kilps and both Foster and Kilps scored 2-points.  Freshman guard Abby Manley led the team in deflections and scored 6-points, and freshman teammate Kennedy Konradi led the team in free throw percentage and scored 6-points.  Freshman Aleigha Wickliffe rounded out the scoring for the Jets with 3-points.

In a quick turnaround the Jets headed back down State Road 9 to Southwestern on Monday.

Senior Bella Kilps scored the first 8-points for the Jets and scored 10-points on the night, while Sophomore Braelyn Williams changed the game in the second quarter by scoring 10-points and ended the game with 11-points and 3 deflections.  Kilps snatched a team high 10 rebounds to scratch a double-double on the night.  The Jets used an 18-point second quarter to lead 24-8 at the half. Senior guard Erykah Everroad hit two 3-pointers in the third quarter of her four on the night and the Jets took advantage of getting to the foul line in the third quarter to extend the lead to 34-16 following three quarters. Everroad was awarded the MaxsPrep Player of the Game and ended with 15-points, 2 assists, 3 deflections, and 2 steals.  Sharing that honor with her was Senior Bella Kilps, Sophomore's Braelyn Williams and Chloie Phelps.  Freshman June Berkenstock scored 3-points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 10 minutes of action to round out the scoring for the Jets.

Hauser moved to 1-1 in the Mid-Hoosier race and 2-4 overall following the 39-22 victory.
