Larry O. Cox, 82, Columbus

Larry O. Cox, 82, of Columbus, Indiana passed away at 4:35 a.m., on November 21, 2023, at his home.

Larry was born September 11, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Francis O. Cox and Florene “Faye” O’Neal Cox. He married Terrie C. Wiley on June 5, 1966. She preceded him in death in 2019.

Larry was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He graduated from Hauser High School with the class of 1959. Larry’s hobbies included word working, and training and riding horses for many years. He also enjoyed camping and watching stock car racing. He retired from Arvin Industries in 1999 after 37 years of service. He then went to work for Raft to Rafters to fill his spare time.

Larry is survived by his sons, Patrick M. (Michelle) Cox, John C. (Charlotte) Cox, daughter, Carrie D. (Chris) Thompson, sister, Shirley (John) Robertson of Hope, grandchildren, Jordan Cox, Delaney Thompson, Luke Thompson, Kendall Thompson, Brooke McClintic, Keegan Ellaby, Dorothy Forrester and great-grandchildren Kadence, Ashlyn and Riven as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 53 years.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Services were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. You are invited to send a message to the family online via the funeral home HERE.
