Jimmie Lee Wiles, 80 of Taylorsville died Saturday November 25, 2023, at his home.
Born September 3, 1943, in Anderson he was the son of Leo Wiles and Mildred M. Merle Wiles. He married Joan Shown June 24, 1967, and she preceded him in death January 22, 2016.
Jimmie was employed as a truck driver and loved it.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and spending time with his family.
A funeral for Jimmie will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope. It will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Metz. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial with a military graveside service will be at Flat Rock Cemetery in Flat Rock, IN.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Norman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
Jimmie is survived by children, Dwayne Snyder of North Vernon, Jimmy Wiles (Jen Sizemore) of Columbus and Trina Skaggs (fiance Bryon Hartness) of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Jackie (Quincy) Griffin of Scipio, Ashley Snyder of Columbus, Alyssa Wiles (Amanda Cash) of Vallonia, Chris (Kati) Wiles of Columbus, Kari (Ryan) Akers of Indianapolis, Kendra Wiles (Maria Wade) of Taylorsville, Corbin (Michelle) Wiles, Montana Wiles, Zach (Kierstin) Johnson, Angel Wade, Timmy and Christopher Nickell, Jeremy Skaggs of Taylorsville, Brandon Skaggs of Taylorsville and Shannon and Heather Quillen; twenty great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; siblings, Leo Wiles of Anderson, Joyce (Bill) Powell of Anderson, John Wiles of Anderson and Janice (Russ) Bauman.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Joey Williams; daughter, Karen Bug; grandson, Tyler Williams; brother, Gene Wiles and son in law, Jeremy Skaggs.
