The largest crowd ever for a free Student’s Fund of Hope Outdoor Movie Night is expected on the Hope Town Square Friday evening as the Student’s Fund of Hope presents “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” with activities beginning at 6 p.m.
Whitney Budd, founder of the SFOH, says this event, which is sponsored by Peterman Brothers and The Wesleyan Church, has received the most traffic online since the Fund started offering the event.
And there’s good reason for all the excitement and hype.
Not only is the fund offering a fabulously fun movie for area families to come out and enjoy, but there will be celebrity in the midst of it all.
“We have Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser coming,” Budd says. “And Bowser will be performing his famous song ‘Peaches’ at 7:30 p.m. on the bandstand.”
In the leadup to Bowser’s performance and the movie, families can enjoy a quick bite of pizza offered by Hot Box Pizza in Columbus. And, as always, WILLow LeaVes of Hope will be offering popcorn for the evening.
There will be additional activities going on, including the chance to make one’s own piranha plant, there will be a Yoshi egg hunt and a Mario Cart type of racing course, Budd says.
Families can take a snapshot to commemorate the evening as there will be two photo booths available – and one of which is the 360-dance photo booth that made its debut during Bingo Night at 450 North not too long ago.
“We have a lot of stuff planned,” Budd says. “I think it is going to be pretty exciting.”
