A Note of Gratitude from Main Street of Hope

By Jenni Richards, president of Main Street of Hope

Main Street of Hope would like to extend a huge Thank You to all who participated in the first-ever Trash Clean-up Day that was held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 9.

Jason Eckart was able to get two 40-yard dumpsters donated from Waste Management. Shawn Thayer helped sort scrap metal, took tires to recycle, and donated his time, expertise and gas to make this happen. He will be taking all collected metal to the scrap yard and collected tires to recycling. All monies received will be used to recycle the tires. Leftover funds will be donated to Main Street of Hope.

In the Main Street District, volunteers were able to pull weeds, clean debris off sidewalks, washdown the metal plaques on the planters, strip and varnish the town benches, repair and paint the bandstand and power wash the sidewalks in front of the businesses.

It was certainly a successful event and one Main Street hopes to continue in the years to come.

Main Street would like to recognize the volunteers who came out and made this a success.
