Mary Margaret Cathey, 93, Greensburg

Mary Margaret Cathey, 93, of Greensburg, passed away at 8:34 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Morning Breeze Healthcare Center in Greensburg.
She was born on July 12, 1930, in Rush County, Indiana the daughter of William Lester and Delores Ileen (Smith) Pollitt. She was born and raised in Rush County and graduated from Milroy High School. Mary was a Westport resident from 1989 until moving to Greensburg in 1999. She had worked for Cambridge Common in Indianapolis and was a member of the Westport Baptist Church.
She married Melvin C. Cathey on March 18, 1989, in Westport. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2019.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Cox of Concord, Virginia and Ruth Ann (Gary) Crumbley of Daphne, Alabama; her sons, Steve (Michelle) Clark of Columbus, Mike (Wanda) Clark of St. Paul and Norman Clark of Texas; step-daughters, Vivian Adams of Greensburg, Marsha (John) Best of Hope, Sandra Schiner of Westport, Patricia (Rick) Vanest and Barbara (Andrew) Gaynor both of Greensburg; step-son, Ronald (Wendy) Cathey of Greensburg; a sister, Caroline Leising of Connersville; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lou Ellen Cathey, Joan Moore, Phyllis Dugan and Betty Pollitt in infancy; brothers, Robert Pollitt and Billy Pollitt in infancy.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at the Westport Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation through the funeral home.
