Ronald Lewis Fourman, 88, Columbus

Ronald Lewis Fourman, 88, of Columbus, died at 9:22 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Ron was born November 8, 1935, in Columbus the son of Charles Virgil and Margaret Marie Pease Fourman.

Ron was a 1953 graduate of Columbus High School. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1954. He married Linda Andrews on May 2, 1957, and she survives. Ron was the owner and operator of Fourman Enterprises in Hope from 1977 to 1999. Ron was a street rod buff and very proud to be a Marine. Ron was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Hartsville, serving in any capacity from being a Deacon to helping on the clean-up committee. A loving husband and family man, Ron will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Joshua Shafer officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Springer Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, “We honor Veteran’s program.”

Survivors include his wife, daughters, Judith (William) Wolpert, of Boulder, CO, Nancy (James) Treesh, of Columbus, IN, and Laura (Greg) Coffee, of Louisville, KY; and a brother, Don (Libby) Fourman, of Seymour, IN; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Kathleen Southerland, and sister, Phyllis Fourman.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
