Richard “Rick” L. Pollitt, 75, of Hope, passed from this life unexpectedly on April 18, 2024, at his home.
Rick was born January 14, 1949, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Robert W. and Edna Harris Pollitt. On November 27, 1991, he married Maryellen Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife, Maryellen; son, Ian (Leslie) Pollitt of Hope; grandchildren, Emily Pollitt, Corban Pollitt, Eli Pollitt; great-grandson, Ryder Pollitt; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Pollitt, Jr., Roger Pollitt and sister, Roberta Irwin.
Visitation only for Rick will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. There will be no formal funeral service. In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place after visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
