Carroll D. Thompson, 80, Clifford

Carroll D. Thompson, 80 of Clifford passed away Saturday April 27, 2024, at his residence.

Born May 28, 1943, in Plymouth, FL he was the son of Horace L. and Carrie M. Bray Thompson.  He married Wanda Burton September 10, 1960, and she preceded him in death November 29, 2007.  He then married Jewell Moore on October 22, 2016, and she survives.

Carroll was employed in the factory at Golden Foundry and Cosco before retirement.

He was a member of Wilson Chapel Christian Union Church and served as an elder.  In previous years he was a member of Clifford Town Board.

There will be visitation for Carroll Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope.  A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. and will be conducted by Pastor Todd Rowland.  Following the service Carroll will be cremated and his cremains buried at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Carroll is survived by children, Rob D. (Barb) Thompson of Columbus, Deb Fletcher of New Albany, Paul Thompson of New Albany, Troy (Becky) Thompson of Farmland, IN and Amanda Moore of North Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Doris Perry of Columbus and Norma Raines of Crawfordsville; daughter in law, Donna Moore of Haydon, IN and several nieces and nephews.

Carroll enjoyed going to garage sales, Good Will, playing cards and gardening.  He was an avid Cowboys and Colts fan.  He loved spending time with his family and loved his dog, Harley.

He greatly loved listening to Blue Grass, Country and Gospel music.
