After decades on the Hope Town Square, the historic "Eat" building as it came to be known was demolished today.
Formerly a pizzeria and later used as dry goods storage by the Cornetts, the former residence was listed on the register of historic buildings; however, time and neglect had taken its toll, and the structure was deemed structurally unsound.
The future of the site, located behind the Ah-Ha Cafe, is uncertain at this time, according to Amanda and Heather Fowler, owners of Ah-Ha Cafe.
"Right now, we wanted the eyesore gone" says Heather Fowler. "We just want to thank everyone for their support with everything."
