Game Report for Week 08/19: Volleyball & Tennis

Volleyball
@ Jennings County -- The Volleyball Team traveled to Jennings County on Tuesday night, Aug. 20. The Jets were defeated and moved to 1-4 on the year. Maley Jordan recorded two aces. Leah Manley again led the team with six assists and Charleston Gelfius led the team with three kills and a block. Ruby McKinney had four digs for the Jets. Hauser will host Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday with Volleyball starting at 6 p.m.
v. Jac-Cen-Del -- The JV and Varsity Volleyball Team hosted new sectional 60 opponent Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday night, Aug. 22. The Eagles defeated the Jets in straight sets moving the varsity record to 1-5. The JV defeated Jac-Cen-Del in three sets to move to 1-1. Maley Jordan recorded two aces and six digs to lead the team. Kaysie Kistler had three kills, while Baylee Riley had six assists. The Jets will travel to the Henryville for its round robin tournament on Saturday, Aug. 31.
@ Henryville Round Robin -- The Lady Jet volleyball team split four matches in Saturday’s Henryville Round-Robin. The Jets fell to North Harrison 25-16, 25-11 and beat Edinburgh 26-24, 24-26, 15-8 and Paoli 25-21, 25-23 before falling to Henryville 25-19, 25-21. Charleston Gelfius recorded 25 kills and three blocks, Madaline Wilmer had 46 assists and seven aces and Maley Jordan tallied 17 digs and seven aces to lead the Jets (3-7). Kaidenze Shoaf also notched 17 digs. Also, for Hauser, Shoaf pounded 14 kills, and Baylee Riley added eight kills. Gelfius had eight digs and four aces, Jordan posted two assists and Brock and Kaysie Kistler each served four aces.
Boys Tennis
@ Shelbyville -- The Hauser Boys’ Tennis team opened the season with a 1-4 loss against Shelbyville on Tuesday, Aug. 20. #2 singles Kameron Blair beat Kashton Laycock 6-1, 6-4. #1 singles Hunter Pappano fell to Reece Prickett 3-6, 1-6. #3 singles Graydon Kilps lost to Kody Sellers 0-6, 0-6. #1 doubles Jentzen Bechtel and Joel Bechtel lost Wyatt Armstrong and Aiden Smith 2-6, 1-6. #2 doubles Jayden Blair and RJ Foster fell to Owen Hartman and Jackson Van Wye 3-6, 4-6. The Jets are back in action Thursday at Brown County.
@ Brown County -- The Hauser Boys Tennis defeated Brown County Thursday Night (Aug. 22) 5-0. #1 singles Hunter Pappano beat Owen East 2-6, 6-3, 10-4. #2 singles Kameron Blair beat Jax Burt 6-1, 6-1. #3 singles Colten Hatton won due to forfeit. #1 doubles Jentzen Bechtel and Joel Bechtel defeated Trevor Shields and Robert Webb 6-0, 6-1. #2 doubles Jayden Blair and RJ Foster beat Jack Keener and Audric Dunn 6-1, 6-0.
The Team moved to 1-1 on the year and will travel to Rushville on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Hauser Boys Tennis Team defeated Rushville 4-1 Saturday morning. #1 singles Hunter Pappano defeated West Mauzy 6-1, 6-1. #2 singles Kameron Blair beat Clayton Chase 6-2, 7-5. #1 doubles Jentzen Bechtel and Joel Bechtel beat Jacob Schwendenman and Aiden Philpot 6-0, 6-0, and #2 doubles Jayden Blair and RJ Foster defeated Edgar Fernandez and Brady Martz 6-1, 6-3. The boys move to 2-1 on the year and will travel to Milan on Monday, Aug. 26.
