Main Street of Hope is currently seeking volunteers to help out with "Clean Up Day" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14.
The return of this popular event is made possible by Main Street of Hope in collaboration with the Town of Hope, Julians Lawn Care, the Office of Community and Rural Affairs [of Indiana], Waste Management, and Indiana Main Street.
There are a variety ways individuals can help leading up to and the day of the event, says Jenni Richards with Main Street of Hope.
Among the various roles available are power washing, scrap metal pickup, trash and tire disposal and cleaning up around the Town Square downtown. Individuals who have the time and means to assist with lawn mowing and trimming are also encouraged to reach out.
Main Street will assist individuals with making contact with those needing help at their residences, Richards says.
Pickups will be on a first-come, first-served basis and need to be within Hope town limits.
Residents who have items that need to be picked up that day may also contact Richards to be placed on a list of addresses requesting assistance.
Individuals interested in donating their time are encouraged to contact Jenni Richards at 812-371-0635.
