The next gathering of the second part of First Families of Hope will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, December 7 at the Yellow Trail Museum, located at 644 Main Street in downtown Hope.
The second part of this series will meet monthly from September 2024 through August 2025, according to organizers, and focus on the families who purchased original land tracts in Hawcreek/Flat Rock Townships prior to 1840.
Hosted by the Bartholomew County Genealogical Society, Saturday’s meeting will highlight the McQueen Family.
Individuals attending are encouraged to bring photos, genealogy, documents, stories or anything else they might want to share. With permission, the Genealogical Society will scan copies during the session and return originals same day. Digital copies will be available for all attendees (don’t forget to bring a jump drive!), as well as the Yellow Trail Research Center.
This is a public event and area residents are encouraged to attend.
