Boys’ Basketball
v. Edinburgh – The Boys’ Basketball Program completed the sweep of MHC rival Edinburgh by beating the JV on Wednesday Night and then defeating the Varsity on Friday Night. The JV is now 4-0 and the Varsity is 3-1 on the year. The Varsity will travel to Switzerland County for its Holiday Tournament on 12/27/24 and 12/28/24. Both the JV and Varsity will return home on Friday 1/10/25 vs. MHC foe North Decatur with basketball starting at 6 p.m.
Boys’ C-Team Basketball
@ Greenwood Christian Academy – The Hauser C team (7-1) ventured north to take on Greenwood Christian Academy. The game was exhilarating. Hauser emerged victorious with a 42-35 double overtime win. Peter Taylor hit two clutch free throws and a game tying 3 to put it into overtime. 1st overtime both teams scored 4 points. 2nd overtime Hauser pulled away with defense and ball movement on the offensive end. Scoring for Hauser: Peter Taylor 10, Isaac Fuller 10, Tishawn Lisby 7, Adrean Tungate 4, Philippe Eugene 3, Aiden Bense 2, Curtis Kilps 2, Camden Grimes 2.
Girls’ Basketball
v. Edinburgh – The Lady Jets welcomed MHC rival Edinburgh to the Hangar on Friday night. The Jets jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and maintained a 10-5 lead after the first quarter. Haven Hartwell scored all 5 of her points in the first quarter to keep the Jets moving. The Jets defensive again made it difficult for the Lancers to score only allowing 6 points in the second quarter while scoring 12 points. The Jets led 22-11 at the half. June Berkenstock scored 9 of her team high 22 in the third quarter while recording 13 rebounds on the night. The Jets led 38-26 after three quarters. Again, June Berkenstock carried the load in the fourth quarter scoring 7 points. The Jets picked up the win by a final score of 47-35 and moved to 7-5 on the year. Norah Berkenstock scored 6 points, while Kennedy Konradi, Abby Manley, and Haven Hartwell all scored 5 points. Chloie Phelps and Aleigha Wickliffe both scored 2 points to round out the scoring for the Jets. Abby Manley recorded a team high 3 assists. The Jets play host to Centerville on Saturday with basketball starting at 12 p.m.
v. Centerville – The Jets had a very quick turnaround in hosting Centerville on Saturday starting at 12 p.m. following the emotional win vs. Edinburgh. The JV Jets grinded out a nice win to start the afternoon. The Varsity in very similar fashion grinded out another win and moved to 8-5 going into the holiday season. The Jets were led by Norah Berkenstock’s 16 points and June Berkenstock’s 14 points. Abby Manley recorded 8 points and Aleigha Wickliffe had 5 points. Haven Hartwell scored 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Braelyn Williams and Willa Wetzel both scored 2 points for the Jets. Norah and Kennedy Konradi both recorded 3 assists. The Jets will host the DiTech Holiday Tournament starting on December 26, 2024 vs. GCA starting at 12 p.m. The tournament will run through December 28, 2024 with four games being played each day.
7th / 8th Grade Boys Basketball
v. Northside MS – The 7th Grade Jets pulled out a 34-25 win over Northside on Wednesday night. Blankinship scored 10 points sealing the deal late at the free throw line. Leonard and Brown each had 9 points and Wiwi had 4 points. Barriger rounded out the soring with 2 points. The Jets moved to 13-2 on the year and will host South Decatur on Thursday.
The 8th Grade completed the Northside sweep with a 37-33 win. The 8th Grade moved to 10-4 on the year. Noble had 17 points and Stuckey recorded 11 points. Wright scored 5 points and Raisor scored 4 points. The Jets will host South Decatur on Thursday.
v. South Decatur – Again, both the 7th and 8th Grade Jets defeated South Decatur. The 7th Graders moved to 14-2 and the 8th Graders moved to 11-4. Wright led the way with 16 points for the 8th Graders. Stuckey had 14 and Raisor had 13 points. Noble had 8 points, and Wiwi and Seal both scored 3 points. Both Teams are off for the Holiday season and will host Central Middle School on Wednesday 1/8/25 with basketball starting at 6 p.m.
