Linda Mae Andrews, 78, Hope

Linda Mae Andrews, 78, of a resident of Hope, Indiana, passed from this life at 5 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Linda was born in Edmonton, Kentucky, May 10, 1945, the loving daughter of the late Dennis Buford and Beatrice Poore Fields. For over 30 years, Linda was the companion of David L. Andrews, they were married August 24, 2019.

A homemaker, Linda will be remembered for her love for her family, reading, making flower arrangements, playing cards and working jigsaw puzzles. Linda enjoyed her membership at the Old School House Church in St. Louis Crossing.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving husband, David Andrews; children, James Stott of Amity, Richard (Emily) Stott of Columbus, Harold (Loretta) Stott of North Vernon, Jill Placek of Hope, Tracee Heslop of Hope, Charity (Daniel) Artis of Flat Rock and Sarah (Martin) Brenneman of Columbus; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bufard (Sharon) Fields of Columbus, Joyce (Jim) Adams of Taylorsville, Wendel (Vicki) Fields of Columbus, Bernice Hartman of Columbus, Michael (Judy) Fields of Columbus and Jenny Harrison of Columbus; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis Buford and Beatrice Fields; brother, Bobby Fields; and an infant brother.

In keeping with Linda’s wishes, cremation was chosen. The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; the Reverend Larry Fields will officiate.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
